Cold chain and daily necessities arrive when the weather and the schedule allow, and both go wrong at once more often than anyone plans for.<\/p>\n<p>A 500 km VTOL leg does not fix the ferry. Around 330 hectares a day for sowing, fertilising and spraying, with a downwash strong enough to push spray under a dense canopy &mdash; which is the part that matters under palm.<\/p>\n<p>The same aircraft carries produce the other way. Supplies, medical equipment and communications gear then have to arrive by air or not at all, and a VTOL that needs twenty metres of clear ground has a lot more places to put itself down than a helicopter does.<\/p>\n<p>Thermal and multispectral sensing reads a fire&rsquo;s position, area and temperature as it moves. We have also flown suppression canisters from the aircraft: released from altitude over the fire, they burst just above it and spread agent across the front instead of punching a hole through it.
